Rules & Regulations
Parents are responsible for packing a nutritious and adequate lunch for their child each day, including a protein source (meat, cheese, yogurt, etc.). If a child is still hungry during lunch, we will offer them more to eat, for an added 3.00 charge. We will then let the parent know to increase the child's future lunches.
We provide snacks in the morning and afternoon. If your child has specific dietary needs or preferences, please provide their own snacks as well.
Water is available throughout the day.
Food
Children must wear comfortable and appropriate clothing and shoes that they can put on and take off easily by themselves.
Please follow these guidelines:
Shoes: Slip-on shoes, Velcro shoes, or shoes with grip are preferred.
Clothing: No rompers, frilly dresses, or costume clothing (except on Halloween). This makes it easier for children to potty by themselves and is safer for play. Clothing should be suitable for outdoor play and art activities, as they may get dirty or stained.
Dress Code
Rest time is important for all our children to recharge their energy and mood. We encourage naps or quiet rest for all ages.
Everyone aged 6 and below naps or rests their bodies.
Children who do not nap must remain quiet and respectful of those who do.
It is essential that your child can nap or rest during this time without disturbing other children.
Rest time is between 12 pm and 2 pm every day. We do not allow scheduled pick-ups or drop-offs during these hours!
Rest Time
We use positive guidance and discipline methods that respect the dignity and rights of each child. We do not use any physical punishment (spanking) or harsh language.
Our discipline policy includes:
-
Three Warnings: We give children three warnings before a time out, unless they hurt themselves or others or damage property, in which case the time out is immediate.
-
Time Outs: We use one minute per year of age as a guideline for time outs. Children sit in a designated time out chair until they are able to calm their bodies. We then talk through the issue.
-
Breaks: If behavior problems persist, we may ask the child to take a break and do some quiet activities away from other stimuli and children, such as reading, coloring, or doing a puzzle.
If the behavior is severe or disruptive, we may call the parent for pick-up. If similar issues persist, discussion about daycare/preschool fit will incur.
